Replacing the spark plug on your Snapper line trimmer

  • Wear work gloves to protect your hands and work in a well-ventilated area.
  • Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug.
  • Using a spark plug wrench, unthread and remove the spark plug from the engine cylinder. Don't let debris fall into the cylinder while you have the spark plug removed.
  • Using a spark plug gap tool, set the spark plug gap according to the specification provided in your owner's manual for the line trimmer.
  • Carefully thread the spark plug into the engine and tighten the spark plug firmly using the spark plug wrench.
  • Connect the spark plug wire to the spark plug.

What to do when you see your Snapper line trimmer leaking gas

Move the line trimmer to a well-ventilated area and check the fuel lines for cracks. Replace the fuel lines if they're leaking. If fuel leaks from the carburetor, rebuild or replace the carburetor to prevent gas from leaking.

Check the fuel tank cap and its seal. Replace the fuel tank cap if its seal is damaged and leaking.

Check the fuel tank and replace the tank if it's damaged.
