Common repair parts for Husqvarna power pruners

  • Switch linkage. The switch linkage connects the activating switch to the trigger. It moves the activating switch when you squeeze the control trigger.
  • Trigger. The trigger is a device that turns the power pruner on and off. Squeezing the trigger turns the power pruner on and releasing the trigger turns the power pruner off.
  • Guide bar. The guide bar is a metal bar that extends from the power pruner body. The guide bar supports and guides the cutting chain.
  • Cutting chain. The cutting chain is a loop of chain with cutting teeth for cutting wood. The motor drives the cutting chain. The guide bar supports the cutting chain.

Adjusting chain tension on your Husqvarna power pruner

  • Allow the chain to cool down before adjusting chain tension. Wear work gloves to protect your hands when adjusting chain tension.
  • Make sure guide bar nuts are only finger tight before adjusting the chain tension.
  • Check that the adjusting block is in the oval adjusting hole on the guide bar.
  • Turn the adjusting screw clockwise to adjust chain tension. There should be no gap between side links of the chain and the bottom of the guide bar after adjusting chain tension.
  • Tighten guide bar nuts firmly.
  • Check chain bar tension after a few minutes of use and adjust chain tension again if necessary.
