Electrical safety precautions to follow when using your Delta drill press

• The drill press power cord plug must match the receptacle on the electrical wall outlet. Never modify the drill press power cord plug in any manner. Don't use an adapter plug with an earth grounded drill press.
• Don't expose the drill press to rain or wet conditions. Water entering the drill press will increase the risk of electric shock.
• Check the condition of the power cord before using the drill press. Repair damaged wires in the power cord or replace the power cord if it's damaged before using the drill press.
• When operating the drill press outdoors, use an extension cord rated for outdoor use to prevent the chance of electrical shock.
• If operating the drill press in a damp location or around a water source, use a GCFI protected power supply.

Squaring the table to the head on your Delta drill press

• Unplug the power cord to disconnect electrical power.
• Insert a ¼-inch diameter, 3-inch long steel rod into the drill press chuck. Tighten the chuck jaws.
• Raise the drill press table to the working height and lock the table in place.
• Using a combination square, place one edge flat on the table and light the other edge vertically beside the rod.
• If adjustment is needed, loosen the table locking set screw and bevel locking bolt. Rotate the table to align the combination square with the rod. Tighten the bevel bolt and set screw.
