Replacing the fan switch on a Gentech household fan

  • Shut off the house circuit breaker or remove the house circuit fuse to completely disconnect electrical power from the fan and the switch.
  • Wear work gloves to protect your hands during the repair.
  • Remove the fan switch cover mounting screws and pull off the fan switch cover.
  • Disconnect the fan switch wires.
  • Remove the fan switch mounting screws and pull out the fan switch.
  • Connect the wires to the new fan switch and mount the fan switch in the switch housing using the mounting screws.
  • Reinstall the fan switch cover and secure it with its mounting screws.
  • Reset the house circuit breaker or reinstall the house circuit fuse to restore electrical power to the fan.
