Most common Tunturi exercise bike parts that need replacing

1. Control console. The control console displays the speed, distance traveled, elapsed time and other user data and is powered by a battery. The console also controls pedal resistance.
2. Crank arm. The crank arm spins the crank arm pulley, which rotates the drive belt to spin the flywheel.
3. Flywheel. The flywheel spins next to the C-magnet and provides pedal resistance as it disrupts the magnetic field of the C-magnet.
4. C-magnet. The C-magnet surrounds a portion of the flywheel and creates variable resistance to the flywheel. The closer the C-magnet sits to the flywheel, the greater the flywheel resistance.

How to fix your Tunturi exercise bike when incorrect speed is displayed on its console

A problem with the reed switch, wiring failure or faulty console can cause the incorrect speed to be displayed.

1. Unplug the exercise cycle if it has a power cord and check the position of the reed switch if displayed speed is extremely slow when you're pedaling at a fast pace.
2. The reed switch won't detect the crank arm pulley magnet if the switch is too far away from the pulley. Adjust the reed switch closer to the pulley so the reed switch detects the magnet and sends the proper speed signal to the console.
3. If the reed switch is properly positioned close to the crank arm pulley, check wiring between the reed switch and the console.
4. Reconnect any loose wires and repair any broken wires.
5. If the wires are okay, you may need to replace the control console because it isn't displaying the correct speed even though it's receiving the correct speed signal from the reed switch.
