Check the door

If your dryer doesn't start, the door might not close properly or it might send a message to the dryer that it's open even if it's shut. Check the dryer door catch to see if it's latching properly, the door strike to see if it's damaged and the dryer door switch to see if it's properly sensing whether the door is open or closed. Inspect the push-to-start switch

When you click the push-to-start button on your dryer, a switch behind the button makes an electrical contact that allows the dryer to start heating and spinning. If this switch doesn't make the proper electrical connection, it needs to be replaced.

Check the electronic control board

As you continue your dryer troubleshooting, pay attention to the dryer's electronic control board. This vital part controls the timing and function of every part of the dryer. It's an expensive part, and it's hard to tell if it's damaged in the absence of obvious external signs, so you probably need to call an experienced repair technician if you think the electronic control board is causing your dryer not to start.
