Cleaning fan blades in your Emerson household fan

Disconnect electrical power to the household fan by unplugging the power cord or shutting off the house circuit breaker for the fan if it's hard wired to the electrical supply circuit in your home.
Wear work gloves to protect your hands from cuts when cleaning the fan blades. Wear a proper breathing and eye protection to prevent irritation or injury.
Use a shop vacuum remove loose dirt and debris from the fan blades.
Use a utility brush to loosen and remove dirt and debris then vacuum the area thoroughly to remove dirt and residue from the fan blades and fan housing.
