Electrical safety guidelines for your DeWalt power hammer

• The power plug on your power hammer or its battery charger must match the electrical outlet. Don't use an adapter plug with an earth-grounded power hammer or battery charger.
• Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators when using the power tool or charger.
• Check the condition of the electrical cord before use. Repair any broken or damaged power cord wires before plugging the power cord into the electrical outlet.
• Keep the power cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts.

Common replacement parts for DeWalt power hammers

• Hammer head. The hammer head impacts the nails automatically when the tool is turned on and the impact mechanism is pressed onto the nail.
• Magnetic sleeve. The magnetic sleeve holds the head of the inserted nail against the recessed shaft at the start of nail driving. The sleeve retracts at the end of nail driving to allow the hammerhead to drive the nail head flush to the workpiece.
• Drive motor. The drive motor rotates to drive the hammer head into the nail.
• Work light. The work light illuminates the work piece when the trigger switch is depressed. This component provides extra light for increased visibility.
