Would not fit my mower. Completely the wrong part
June 05, 2021

The part I received is not the part I ordered and there was no way to make it fit. Entirely the wrong part. The part I ordered bolts to the idler arm with two bolts. Did not get that one.

This the wrong part. The design has changed. The brake pad will only slightly touch the pulley on the side of the pad. Totally incorrect. Please look at your design, whomever changed it, didnt take into consideration how the pad would seat. Can you send pictures of this poorly designed part.

Photo 1, The brake pad does not seat on the pulley. Photo 2, brake pad properly installed. Photo 3, part number is correct for my tractor 917.289260.

It's a match!

What's exciting about a blade brake replacement? Well, not much really. However, the parts I received were indeed a perfect match for the originals. Probably the biggest hassle was getting the small spring properly mounted on the left side brake. What a stinker! Other than that, my deck is tuned up and ready to go for next spring.

Easy.

Most difficult activity was removing mower deck to gain access. And, this was pretty straight forward. The rest was a piece of cake.

Manufacturers defect. Old brake was bent by someone and new one did not fit properly. Supporting screw hole was to close to belt wheel causing brake not coming off the belt wheel. install and only took 20 min....
