Straight forward replacement.

Easy to install once I had the downdraft pipes disconnected on my particular cooktop. Lift the cooktop out. Remove knobs and the 12 screws holding the glass top down. Lift the glass off and the element just sits there. Disconnect/reconnect 9 wires. Be sure to order new insulating tape and foam tape. You will need to replace the old tape for sure. Then reinstall the glass and set the unit back in the counter. Takes a couple of hours max. You need a1/4" nut driver and putty knife(to loosen the top from the old foam tape). A flathead screwdriver can help you loosen the wire connectors. I used rubbing alcohol and a rag to clean off the old tape residue. If yours is a downdraft like mine you will need to disconnect on joint on the exhaust and then have tape to re-tape it on install. Its not a hard repair. Good luck.
