Easy to install

The project entailed switching from a right hand hinge to a left hand hinge on a sears refrigerator as part of a kitchen remodel. The only difficult part was removing the decorative plastic plugs that cover the threaded holes for the handle studs. I am guessing that the 6 year old plugs had embrittled a bit. It would have been nice if new plugs had been included in the hinge kit.

Easy to Install

When I purchased this refrigerator, I inquired as to whether Sears could reverse the door for me before (or at) delivery. I was told no, but that I could do it myself. There was no mention of a necessary door reversal kit. I am not a very handy person so I got my boyfriend to do it. He spent a good long while struggling with the original parts, trying to figure out how it all was supposed to fit back together in reverse. We both read the manual over and over, looking for clues, and it seemed like you should be able to use the same parts, just flipped around. Eventually we called the 800 number for help and that's the first I had heard of the door reversal kit. The kit wasn't cheap and should have been included in the original purchase, especially since I had just dropped the equivalent of nearly two mortgage payments on this fridge to begin with. As for the kit itself, super easy to install and seems to be working just fine. I would give it five stars, but the path we took to get to the actual installation of the kit makes me knock a star off the total.
