Installation was tedious but worth it!

My LG upright washing machine was roaring like a jet plane taking off during the spin cycle. It was my intent to purchase a new one but when I described the problem to my nephew, he told me he thought that he could repair it. One evening, he disassembled the machine and saw what parts were needed. Fortunately, Sears Parts Direct had a washer outer rear tub assembly, which included a number of parts that were needed, which I ordered instead of having to order the individual parts. The assembly arrived timely and my nephew installed the parts and reassembled the machine in about 2 1/2 hours. My machine now works perfectly! Thanks to my nephew and the replacement parts I saved several hundred dollars by not needing to buy a new washing machine.

A Fit for Our LG WM2277HB
December 01, 2019

This assembly was mostly correct for our LG machine. The dispenser hose was not the correct part so we swapped out the original one and all was well. I think the original design for the tub was better/stronger and this one is cheaper for LG to produce which is why the old part number was superseded. Sears did a great job of confirming this part would fit and make sure we got it quickly. Minus one star for the design change which is not Sears' fault, it's an LG decision. BTW; The original motor parts fit correctly on the new style tub.

Came with new hoses but not gasket?
December 06, 2018

Make sure you buy a gasket with this since it didn't come with it. The tub leaked and I thought I didn't tighten the screws. Now one the tub bolt is stripped. But since it's plastic I might hv to buy a new washer after all.

Comes with the bearings and seal already installed
November 10, 2018

My bearings went out again one year after replacing them. I discovered that my original rear tub assembly had stress cracks in the area which holds the bearings and seal in place. This allowed the replaced seal to dislodge and water to a access my replacement bearings. This time I replaced the rear tub assembly and was delighted to find that the bearings and seal are all included, and already pressed into place, saving me almost $100 to purchase them as other required parts for the repair.

Half a day to do it right, also check the spider.
May 27, 2018

Not sure repair is successful. Replaced rear tub as bearings failed on original tub. However, shaft of spider is loose in the bearings of the new tub. If the correct part was shipped to me, than bearing diameter is changed or spider shaft is worn. Should inspect spider before reassembling tub to see that it is worth doing the assembly work. Machine sounds like it will tear itself apart again, so will have to do teardown to check spider now. If spider is good, than tub section does not work. Also, replace dampers at the same time.
