Carburetor replacement due to failed fuel shut off
I recommend taking a photo of the throttle linkage before removing the old carburetor. The gas inlet tube on the new carburetor was turned 180¡ opposite to the original, so I had to really stretch the gas line to reach. This made it more difficult to reinstall the air intake plenum caused by the stress on the gas line hose. I considered trying to bend or twist the inlet tube so it would face toward the front, but it is fairly delicate metal and did not want to risk it. The rubber gas line is a good 4 inches closer to the engine heat shield now. Seems counterintuitive. I'm hoping no ill comes of it.
