The right part
My dishwasher started acting up. Control panel lights would flash and the unit would not run. Resetting was of no use. After researching possible issues on the internet, the most likely culprit was the control panel itself. I ordered it from Sears Parts Direct, received quickly and after a quick and easy install it runs normally.

Easy fix
My dishwasher buttons were not working (blinking and unable to push new ones). This fixed the problem. Glad to not have had to put my dishwasher in a landfill.

Easy to install yourself!
Very easy, just needed a T-15 Torx driver. It took about 20 mins to replace myself. A service call would have easily doubled the cost.

Works as expected
Old part: Ribbon cable rusted and shorted -- this led to panel control becoming unresponsive. Symptoms include LED's misbehaving and buttons only would work sometimes when pressed. Replaced fixed the issue but wonder about Whirlpool engineering quality on the original design.
