Part Information

Kenmore inline water filter (part number 3844709) has NSF certification 42; it reduces chlorine taste and odor and class III particulates rust, dirt, sand and sediment 5 to 15 microns in size.

Inline water filter part number 3844709 is for refrigerators, freezers and ice makers without a built-in water filter. The filter quickly connects directly to the water supply line of the appliance.

The filter contains activated carbon, a black powder. After installing the filter, flush 5 gallons of water through to allow fine, harmless particles to purge from the filter, until you no longer see the particles in the filtered water (approximately 10 minutes). The filter includes instructions and 2 male connectors required for some installations.

Easy to Install!!!

I needed a new water filter for Refrigerator ice maker hat sits in my basement attached to the water line. I Called Sears Parts Direct. Adequate - Not as God As Original

It was easy to install and works. However, the connectors are now compression style and not screw in. If they are not exactly in line water will squirt out. These are not as good as the original.

Plumer said that I did not have to have the filter so and he fix the problem. There one thing , When I call for a man to come out and see what is wrong and he can not put the filter . So I sent it back and get a refund

Easy to install

Turn off water to pipe, install inlet side, have a bowl under the outlet side and the remaining pressure will let some water out to rinse out any carbon residue. I didn't have any residue. Then just click in the outlet side and you're done.
