Kenmore water filter (part number 9913) has NSF certifications 42, 53, 372 and 401. It reduces parasites, lead, chlorine taste and odor, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and some pesticides and pharmaceuticals.
Water filter 9913 fits select Kenmore side-by-side refrigerators with a rear cup filter.
Replace every 6 months, or more often if water flow slows noticeably.
Follow package instructions when you install this genuine Kenmore water filter.

FIRM placement of new filter.
You need to know the replacement filter has to FIRMLY 'SNAP' into the base of the holder, otherwise it cannot be screwed back into position in frig. There is a rubber ring down inside near bottom of outer container, so new filter needs to be pushed into that so filter will stay firmly in position to be screwed on. We discovered that after several attempts to screw in place. THANK YOU for opportunity to pass this info. along.
