Technically easy, physically very difficult.
The actual replacement is easy, 3 screw and unplug, then the reverse. The problem is getting to the ice maker. The best way is to take the freezer door off, but the screws were so tight I couldn't do it. I ended up removing the bins and drawer and then sat between the freezer door and freezer, which allowed to lean into the freezer. Still, a very tight space for a 6' guy. I had a tech come out, but the labor for what he said would be a half hour job, was three hundred forty-four dollars.

Easiest install ever
With three screws and a plug, this was the easiest repair I've done in a long time. Sears made it easy to get the right part the first time where it was confusing on other sites. Thanks Sears!!

Ice maker
It was easy to install. The first one, the wire was not shutting the icemaker off. The second replacement came and it was broken on delivery. The white shield was cracked off from it. Now have a third icemaker and waiting to install it. Hopefully this one will be successful

Wrong part sent resulting in additional costs
The ice maker was easy to install. Too bad Sears sent the wrong ice maker. Had to hire a technician to troubleshoot only to find out the model sent did not have the correct harness to activate the water flow to the ice maker. I purchased the valve and still didn't work. Then the technician traced the wire configuration and it was missing the wire required to activate the flow of water. Sears charged me again for the correct one and will not reimbursed me until I ship that model back. Should have just traded with no costs because I had to pay a technician.
