Dryer door handle, easy to install

My front loading dryer's handle broke off and fell out of its setting; I purchased replacement part from Sears PartsDirect as they are the only ones who carry this part, being a Kenmore appliance. Customer service was great, and delivery was fast, but the handle (for this older, basic model) was $40, not counting delivery fee. I feel the price was a little steep, but was compelled to purchase, as no one else but Sears carries the part.

I thought I had ordered the right piece based on the product number on original bill, but the piece had no way to keep it secure in the door handle. I would have had to use duct tape like I am using now with the original handle (the plastic prongs broke off and the old handle will not stay in place).

Not Even Close!

This handle was said to be a manufacturers update to the needed dryer door handle. About $35.00 with shipping. Not even close to fitting! I cannot believe how far off this piece was and that Sears endorses it as the correct replacement.
