Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Not that easy to install
The basics were okay and it fit in the hole. However it did not have the matching plug, so I had to cut the one off of it and wire nut the old plug onto it.

Easy to install.
Sensor was easy to install, but it did not fix our problem of wildly fluctuating temps. According to internet advice, replacing the sensor was the first (and less expensive) step to try to fix the problem. We are scrapping our 16-17 year old stove now and will buy a new one. The part was fine, but our stove is toast.

Super-easy to install on my oven model.
The newer ovens don't have an extra back-plate to remove, so installing a new temperature sensor is as simple as turning off the oven, shutting off the gas, unscrewing the retaining screw, unplugging the old one, plugging in the new one, and putting it back in. Probably the easiest thing to fix yourself.

Installation failed
When the part arrived, there was a small slip of paper (and no other instructions!) with the following message on it: "Attention Installer: The connector on this replacement probe may be different from the original. If it is, cut the connector off and splice the harness and probe wires together." No such warning, by the way, was mentioned on your website when I placed the order. Suffice it to say, the connectors WERE different, so I tried splicing as suggested (not being an electrician, I tried my best to make the splices work). After splicing and taping the splices tightly with electrical tape, I installed the probe. However, it did NOT solve the problem that it was designed to fix. I have a useless oven, now, and have spent over $30.00 and some effort in the process. I am now buying a new stove -NOT from Sears!

wrong adapter but made it work
The adapter on this temperature sensor didn't match that on my oven even though it was supposed to be the right one. A couple of ceramic wire connectors and a pair of wire strippers solved that problem easily enough though.
