We needed to order a new front burner as well as it's controlling switch. Though both parts were shipped separately they arrived at the same time and in a timely manner. Both were super easy to install and now my stove is once again working perfectly! Love GE!

Exact duplicate of original and easy to install

Element was very easy to install
Two screws under the lip in front allows the top to lift up giving access to the element underneath, then two screws on two clips to remove the element. Transfer plugs from the old to the new and reassemble. Easy to do.

Very basic DIY
Mine was a cook top install. As easy as: disconnect power for the stove circuit at your breaker panel, detach from counter top and lift the unit up, remove perimeter screws holding the upper and lower halves together, remove knobs, and lift off the top cover. Remove old burner, (note, or take pics of wire positions if necessary), then remove mounting ears and install them on new burner. Set burner back on spring loaded legs and set top cover back in place. It will require mild pressure against the spring loaded burners to line up the screw holes. Start with one at each corner to secure, then finish with the rest. Don't over tighten. Re-secure in counter top and turn on breaker power. Test unit. Whole process is 20 minutes, tops, unless you have problems getting the cook top out of the counter.

It was an easy install for me, but probably not for the average DIYer. I have 57 yrs experience in appliance repair and since this was a replacement part with no instructions it might present some difficulty for someone else.
