Backup Belts

I was doing annual maintenance on my snowblower and read in the service manual that it was a good idea to have a spare drive belt on hand. My existing belt was showing wear, so I decided to order a backup belt for the drive and auger.

Easy to install

Start by reading the instructions in your manual. Very easy to install. Took about 45 minutes to install, start to finish (replaced auger and drive belts). Tested the snow thrower (dry run of course) works as expected.

sears catalog specification is inaccurate

the belt 954-04195A that sears shipped to me was not the right replacement belt for my model 88640 snow blower...the belt I removed was marked 754-04050 and was 35 inches long not 37 inches...I bought the correct belt locally at one third the cost and it works perfect

Belt did not match original equipment

Sears has not been of much service in getting my Craftsman 28 inch snowblower repaired. Last year I ran over a line and sheared several pins and the auger drive belt. First order was incorrect belt. They sent the drive belt and I needed auger drive belt. I paid over $50.00 for them to send another correct belt. The package number for the auger drive belt I received was correct according to the manual. However, the original v-belt had serrations, the replacement did not. No store around here and all Sears Helpline numbers I call are automated and only want to come to my residence and repair appliances. So much for them servicing what they sell.
