Defective touchpad
The control panel would not lie flat in the touchpad. I discovered there was an extra plastic pin that was taller than the others and was not in the old panel at all! I had to break off the top with pliers so the control panel could set in the way it should. Very frustrating.

Happy part was available
I'm glad my part was in stock as my microwave is 10 years old now. Unfortunately I have had to replace the keypad before (over-stove unit) I believe because steam gets to it over time. This piece is the buttons and fascia only. You will have to remove the control board from your old fascia and put it into the new one. It's very straightforward and can be done in 30 minutes.

Very easy install.
Installation took about 5 mins start to finish. I almost replaced the entire $500 microwave until I saw a YouTube video on how to repair it.

Touchpad easily replaced
Microwave Is a Samsung, not a Sears as I thought I had purchased. Very easily replaced once I found correct part. Plastic cover on top was damaged in shipping.
