Simplicity
This is a simple part to replace. The front panel of the ice dispenser lifted out with minimal effort and the motherboard unscrewed and disconnected easily. At that point the solenoid was visible and accessible and was easily unscrewed and replaced. One word of caution - be prepared to encounter rust and/or mold buildup in this area, although it is easy to clean since the parts are mostly smooth plastics.

Ice dispenser solinoid
Part was easy to insult and worked as designed. We have to replace this part every 3 years or so because it tends to develop surface rust which impedes smooth operation but it's cheaper than buying a new fridge...

Easy to install, fixed several problems
I should have replaced this long ago. It was causing the ice door to not completely close, and also would intermittently stop water from flowing. One simple fix took care of both problems, as well as ice build-up inside the chute. I used some vaseline on the parts to prevent further rusting.
