How to troubleshoot your Yard Man lawn vacuum when the engine won't start
- Check the spark plug wire. Reconnect the spark plug wire if it's loose or disconnected.
- Check the safety switch. Tighten the hose adapter on the vacuum fan so the safety switch is engaged if the hose adapter is loose.
- Open the fuel shut-off valve if it's closed.
- Check the fuel. Replace stale fuel with fresh gas. Use fuel stabilizer to keep gasoline fresh between uses.
- Check the spark plug. Replace the spark plug if it's fouled or damaged.
How to unclog your Yard Man lawn vacuum fan
- Shut off the tractor engine and set the parking brake.
- Shut off the vacuum engine and disconnect the spark plug wire.
- Release the cart catch and lift the cart up.
- Empty the cart if it's full.
- Remove the hose and clear any hose clogs.
- Remove the discharge elbow and remove any clogs.
- Reassemble the lawn vacuum.
