Work area safety guidelines to follow when using your Ryobi scroll saw

• Work in a well-lit area so you can clearly see the work piece and the location of the saw blade.
• Make sure that your work area is well-ventilated. Don't operate your scroll saw in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
• Keep children and bystanders away from the work area when operating the saw. Distractions can cause you to lose control of the scroll saw.
• Wear work gloves to protect your hands and eye protection when using the scroll saw.

Replacing the blade in your Ryobi scroll saw

• Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.
• Remove the table insert. Release blade tension by turning the blade tension knob counterclockwise.
• Insert the blade change rod through the hold above the blade holder and loosen the hex socket screw on the blade holder. Remove the blade from the upper blade holder.
• Loosen the lower blade holder hex socket screw and remove the blade.
• Install the new blade and reassemble the saw.
