GE inline water filter (part number GXRTDR) has NSF certification 42; it reduces chlorine taste and odor and class III particulates rust, dirt, sand and sediment 5 to 15 microns in size.
Inline water filter GXRTDR is for refrigerators without a built-in water filter. The filter connects to your refrigerator's water supply line to remove contaminants from the water supply.
Replace every 6 months, or more often if water flow slows noticeably.
Follow the package instructions when you install this water filter.
Water filter GXRTDR replaces earlier filter part numbers AP717, GXRTQ, GXTQR, PM97X717, WR97X0180, WR97X0214, WR97X0214R, WR97X214A and WR97X214R.

Easy to install
I was a little skeptical because it was to replace a completely different filter system. Turned off the water made too cuts and pushed the tubing in the ends. Could not have been easier.

Easy to install
My husband had no problem replacing the filter. If you're doing it for the first time, always remember to shut your water off or you're going to have a big puddle. When you turn the water back on, it helps to have someone watching the filter and the hoses to make sure that there's no leaks, then check your water/ice maker, before you push your refrigerator back. We just use a cup and check the flow of the water.

Wrong Part and no return
Wrong part again. I have had problems connecting with sears part direct and cancelling this recurring order. They switched to the non-quick-disconnect part which is 4 times what I pay for the correct part on Amazon. I should give a 1-starbut the service has always been excellent and the last time I was able to contact SPD, I received the correct part. Since then I have received and payed for 3 filters which will never be used and I still cannot get an answer. All started when Sears decided to go the way of Monkey Wards. Bad enough the parts department in Schaumburg, IL is closed.

Couldn't install
The new filter (GXRTQR) was supposed to replacement for (GXRTDR) but the openings aren't big enough to fit the tubing to the filter. So far we haven't gotten it to work, so it isn't installed.
