Watch for firmware changes

The Electronic Control Board links to the Motor Control Board and the LCD Display board. Then the ECB blew out on my 4-year old washing machine, I attempted to replace it. I subsequently learned that frequently (every year?) firmware updates occur, so if you have to change one board, you're going to have to replace all three otherwise they won't "talk" to each other. The cost of all three boards essentially makes the washing machine disposable. Why pay $700 to repair when you can get a new one for just a bit more? Anyway, watch the firmware to make sure it's all compatible.
