Putting It In Was Easy, Wiring It Right Was Tough
Removing the old element and putting in the new one was simple. Plenty of YouTube videos on how to take off the range surface and do it. However, connecting the existing wires to the new terminal layout proved to be challenging. I hooked it up wrong several times (no damage to the element, it just didn't work). It was only after I removed the covers of the connection modules that I discovered that the internal connections on my old element went parallel to the edge of the element and the ones on the new element went perpendicular to the edge of the element. No mention of the wiring diagram came on the included instructions. I dinged the rating 1 star for that. Otherwise, fairly straightforward.

Issue w/ instillation
I was unable to install the unit myself because it was not a direct replacement for the Maytag 74004556 as it stated in the product description. The repair man had to do rewiring of the stove and element to make it work. I have no idea what he did but was extremely happy that he was able to install it. When I ordered the part it stated there were five in stock and not long after I started to receive back order notifications for the next three months. Since we were fortunate to have three additional burners to use it wasn't a problem waiting for the part. Now that it's installed I hope it lasts for a while.

Pay attention to the letter/number combinations
This element was not an exact match for my range, but this was the approved replacement. The directions were not clear because they attempted to take into account different original set ups. The sizes of the contacts were not an exact match either, but using the extensions allowed for an acceptable fit. My element also showed a manufacturing defect with the element wire embedding into the substrate incompletely. I wasn't able to fix, but the issue wasn't bad enough to wait for a new element.

Electric range dual element burner purchase
I was assured the element Would be identical to my old one so I ordered it. Received it promptly but it was nothing close to my old one. Being an electrician I was able to retire it and make it work. Turned a one hour job into a six hour job. Will never use sears parts direct again.
