Easier to install if you remove auger cable tension bracket from snowblower first, paying close attention to how bracket is oriented and mounted on the snowblower.
To replace or install the auger cable clamp: 1.) If you need to replace an existing auger cable clamp, clamp the bracket in a vise and use tools (eg...flat-blade screwdriver and a hammer) to gently tap the auger cable clamp to be replaced off of the bracket, noting how it is oriented on the bracket; 2.) place new auger cable clamp onto the wide-end of the bracket, aligning the slot in the clamp with the end of the bracket, and making sure the slot in the clamp is facing downward; 3.) then simply push or gently tap the clamp onto the bracket until it is fully seated.
Reinstall the bracket with assembled auger cable clamp to the snowblower. Push the auger cable through the slot in the clamp, adjust cable tension with bracket, and secure bracket in place using the screw, washer, and locking-nut provided on the snowblower.
