Overkill chill
Too bad our five year old fridge simply wants to freeze us out. So, after two defrosts, I installed a new knob. Whoda thunk it would be worth over $20 to get a plastic "d" shaped knob to save the day, and the bologna, the yogurt, the milk, etc., etc. First, we took everything out of the freezer, where the knob was located. ($0 minutes for defrost.) Then, using an old blow dryer, I thawed the iced up area behind the soon-to-be replaced knob and broke it off to get it out. Then I replaced it with the new one and now it is working. We hope it will take us down the road at least another five years.
