Steers like new

Good replacement part, fixed my steering like new its a 24 year old Craftsman and still mows 2 yards a week

total steering restoration

this part is located in an area of the tractor that will require you to at minimum drop the front of the deck then lift the mower at least 20 to 24 inches to accommodate the length of the steering shaft . the assembly body needs to be installed w/o the shaft .then reinstall the shaft from the bottom. keep in mind that the moon gear teeth need to engage with the teeth on the steering shaft.

Installation was straight forward.

A fair amount of the tractor needs to be disassembled/removed if you want easy access for removal and installation of the new steering assembly. Approximately a one hour job. Only problem I encountered was the new steering shaft required a outer nut to secure the steering wheel. The old shaft had a bolt threading into the top of the steering shaft. Minor issue.
