Correct part for the job

About a 3 hour job if the tub nut breaks free. You will probably need to get the spanner tool. I had to heat nut with torch to get it too loosen. Wear gloves when removing part, lots of sharp edges.

easier to install than to take apart

The parts description was not very clear, but the seal shown in the picture does come with the assembly, so don't order a new seal! Getting the old rusty nut off the shaft was a bear... had to finally split it to get it off. The rest was not very hard.

Time consuming repair.

Requires complete tear down of washing machine. Regret I did not replace tub bearing at same time, however it is not as involved to go back in later to replace that part. Bottom pulley nut was very tight used impact gun to remove. When installing drive belt used zip tie on motor shaft to keep belt from riding up did not need special installation tool. View installation videos on line to understand this step.

No more grinding

You'll need the scanner wrench. You will also need to clean out the threads between the shaft and the threads. The shaft is not round. You can get a small pick or drill bit to get the calcium buildup out so you can turn the nut. It took away the grinding I was hearing during the wash cycle. Well worth it. Not much to a washer as far as they are built. I replaced the motor twice, the pump once and the seal. It comes with the seal.

Difficult to remove had to order special tool.

Took a lot of work to remove nut the holds tub. Had to order special tool. Hammered on the tool and finally got it loose had to have someone hold shaft to complete removal.
