Easy to install and took only 30 minutes to complete. After unplugging the unit for safety, you have to reprogram the remotes with unit also. Instructions for this programing is on the inside of the operator door. So easy to follow.

Well, I'm older so I have to take my time. Cleaned the rail and relubed them. Got the part on. Gave it the smoke test and it worked like new.

Not too difficult

I never did find replacement instructions online for the model I have, Craftsman 75th Anniversary 1/2 HP, but I found that after disconnecting the rail, the opener can swing back enough to squeeze the sprocket in. The door should be open in case the rail falls, but in practice on this model there is no need to pull the opener back that far. It's important to adjust both stopping positions since they will have changed.

Difficult but saved money, a lot of money!
June 02, 2018|Krusty, Florida

Installing the bracket involved taking down the garage opener, separating the rail from the motor, installing the sprocket between them and putting everything back together. If you haven't done it before it can take awhile. I am sure I could do it quicker now.

Works great

The product itself was easy to install. Perfect fit with out much "slack" in the coupling and drive screw. May as well get two while you're at it. Save downtime on garage door opener repairs. Your wife will thank you later.
