Using replacement parts from Sears and following how to videos on YouTube made the job so easy a $45 part is easier to pay for than a $800 new dishwasher!

Door lock and lock latch replacement
I ordered both a "latch, lock" and door lock to repair my friend's dish washer. Replacing both items was fairly straightforward with the exception of removing the wires from the door lock. I couldn't tell if the connectors had a locking tab or were just very tight. They were just very tight. Taking the door apart was easy with the removal of the screws on the side and 2 of the 4 screws on top. (The two closest screws hold the door lock in place. You'll remove those when you are ready to remove the lock once the door has been opened.) Plan on 20 to 30 minutes.

Door lock
Site was great in explaining exactly how to remove the existing latch and replace with the new one. Fourteen screws on the door, a couple of plugs to pull and that was it. Very simple repair and it works like new.
