Got the right part, and reasonably priced.
I tried other appliance part vendors, but they didn't have the gas control valve needed for my water heater. The manufacturer's supplier claimed to have it, but also insisted that the threaded fitting was twice the diameter that I actually measured. They also wanted to charge $254 compared to the $150 for the same unit from Sears parts. Sears, besides being much more reasonably priced, had the correct size. My water heater is now back in good working order, and I am very satisfied.
