Defrost sensor replacement

It took about an hour to replace. Working fine. A YOU Tube video helped with the procedure. An access cover at the back of freezer compartment would make it a lot easier. New defrost sensor was $35.

Kenmore fridge er-dH code

This defrost sensor was the perfect part to replace the broken one. We installed this part plus a defrost heater to fix a er-dH code on our Kenmore fridge.

Easy install

Took longer to defrost the unit than it did to install the news sensor. Very pleased and probably saved $100!!! Thanks, that's why I buy Sears!

Failed sensor

After waiting a week for the part, which did NOT come with instructions although we had been assured that it would; the sensor failed after 4 hours...we ordered a new fridge, NOT from Sears...our fridge was only 10 years old.

Why is it necessary to have this in the back?

We called a repair person after watching the You Tube Video. Why can't it be accessible from the back and not take the freezer draw and side panels out.
