Easy fix, not too expensive.
Seems to work even better than the original! Maybe the old one was on its way out for a while. Anyway, this one is great so far.

Easy to install
Took about 15 minutes. Just had to mount the old brackets on the new part, which was easy because the mounting holes are pre pressed

Range surface element
We took a picture on my phone so removing element and replacing would be easy. Our only disappointment is the tiny part that was not working could not be replaced without buying the whole unit for a cost of $110!
