Watched a YouTube video, got the old top off in 20 minutes by myself, but did need an extra set of hands to get the brackets screwed onto the new glass top

Lost my part.
Took over a month to get the part. They lost the part the first time, canceled the order and didnt let me know. So then I re order the part, takes another 2 weeks to ship. Was without a stove for over a month.

Perfect replacement
I bought this to replace the top on my Kenmore 790.94199310, which is black, so I was relieved to find that both the frame and glass are black on this part. Installation was a little harder than expected because the heating elements are attached to this via some cross members. That's in addition to the rear hinges (they pull off easily) and a flashing strip at the front. Job took me about an hour but probably could be done in half if you've opened one of these up before.

I am replacing the glass/ceramic top to a GE Spectrum range. Why it cracked in the first place seems like a defective item. I know this is an older model and was not able to get a GE replacement. Sears told me this top they sold me would fit, but see below comments.
