Setting up the new Deck Housing
It was so easy that I had my 11 year old grandson help. There was one problem. The bolts into the right mandrel were so stuck that they broke off. Yes, I had soaked them for several says with solvent. BUT they were self-tapping. Undeterred, I have ordered a new mandrel to replace the unit *(yes in stock) so when that arrives, I will have it in place, tightened and the belt installed. Once that is done and the new blades are on (about 30 more minutes), I will install the totally new Deck Housing on the mower and AWAY we go. I am amazed how easy it has been to do this.

Craftsman mower deck
I'm 69 years old with some health issues and I found it fairly easy to do the whole project from taking the deck off the tractor, switching all the parts from the old deck to the new deck and reattaching the deck to the tractor, then leveling the deck from front to back. Replacing the deck is a whole better than buying a new tractor and a lot cheaper too.
