Try this first!
Possibly the best money I've ever spent! If your freezer side is frosting up while your fridge side isn't cold, this is likely the culprit. Easy to install, and cheaper than the minimum service call just for someone to take a look. Before you give up and buy a new one, try this.

Fixed itself
Apparently the presence of the part caused the to cease malfunctioning. I have it in a drawer, in case the refrigerator needs a reminder.

Easy to install
I was going to buy a new fridge. After utubing found the bimetal defrost thermostat bad. Order exactly the same part from Sears parts and replacement was made. After 31 yrs te spare fridge is back to working.

Fixed my problem
Fridge was freezing up every few days. Replaced it and everything working okay now. Better than spending the $ calling a service repair person.

Installing is easy
Disconnect power supply from unit, remove all shelves and storage bin, now remove hangers inboard side of freezer and bin guild, now remove metal cover to replace bi metal switch use blow dryer to melt ice bill up so defrost unit can over
