How to tune up the engine on your Steele generator

  • Gather the Steele generator parts that you'll need such as oil, drain pan, air filter, spark plug, tools and personal protective equipment.
  • Position the generator on a level surface in a well-ventilated area.
  • Position the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug then remove the oil drain plug to drain the engine's oil. Reinstall the oil drain plug after the oil drains and wipe up any spilled oil. Dispose of the used oil properly. Refill the engine with fresh oil.
  • Replace the air filter and spark plug.
  • Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes then recheck oil level and add oil if needed.

How to fix your Steele generator when no AC output current is available while the generator is running

Check the circuit breakers on the generator to see if a breaker tripped. Reset any tripped circuit breakers.

The device that you're trying to power up may be bad. Try plugging a different device into the generator.

Check the power cord for the device that you're trying to power. Replace the power cord or extension cord if it's frayed or damaged.

Shut off the generator and check wiring connections in the generator. Reconnect any loose wires and repair any broken wires.
