Adjusting belt tension on your Jet drill press

• Unplug the drill press power cord to disconnect electrical power.
• Make sure that pulleys are aligned properly as shown in the owner's manual before adjusting belt tension.
• Unlock the belt tension by turning the lock knobs on each side of the drill press head counterclockwise.
• Tighten the drill press belts by turning the belt tension handle clockwise.
• Loosen the belts by turning the belt tension handle counterclockwise.
• Belt tension is correct when the belt deflects approximately ½-inch when pressed at its center.
• When belt tension adjustment is complete, tighten the tension lock knobs to lock belt tension.

Locking the chuck at the desired depth on your Jet drill press

• Unplug the drill press to disconnect electrical power.
• Turn the feed handles until the drill press chuck is at the desired depth.
• Hold the feed handles at the desired position.
• Turn the stop nut located under the depth stop counterclockwise until it rests against the depth stop.
• The chuck will now be help at this position when you release the feed handles.
