Replacing the wall control thermostat for your GMC central air conditioner

Shut off the house circuit breakers for your central air conditioner to disconnect electrical power.
Remove the cover of the existing wall control thermostat. Follow the instructions in the owner's manual for the existing thermostat to remove its cover.
Remove the thermostat mounting screws and pull the thermostat out from the wall slightly to access thermostat wires.
Disconnect the thermostat wires and remove the existing wall control thermostat.
Connect the wires to the new wall control thermostat.
Mount the new thermostat to the wall using the mounting screws. Install the thermostat cover.
Reset the house circuit breakers for the central air conditioner to restore electrical power.
