Replacing the screen on your Chamberlain storm & screen door

  • Wear work gloves to protect your hands when replacing the screen.
  • Remove the screws from the hinges and pull the door off the door opening frame. Lay the door down on a flat working surface.
  • Remove the existing screen and its tensioning gasket.
  • Clean the grooves for the tensioning gasket thoroughly.
  • Cut the new screen material so it overlaps the screen frame by 1-inch on each side.
  • Lay the screen material over the screen frame and push the tensioning gasket and screen into the tensioning gasket groove—properly tensioning the screen as you insert the tensioning gasket.
  • Trim excess screening material from the sides of the screen frame,
  • Reinstall the door on the door opening frame.
