Common Remington electric line trimmer replacement parts

  • Trigger switch. The trigger switch turns the electric motor on and off to control cutting head motion on the line trimmer.
  • Cutting head. The cutting head houses the cutting line and spins to allow the cutting line to cut grass when the motor runs. The cutting head also controls cutting line length.
  • Power cord. The power cord supplies electrical current to the trigger switch and motor to spin the cutting head.
  • Cutting line. The cutting line that is initially installed in the cutting head of the trimmer will eventually be used up. Replacement cutting line is available in various sizes. Replace the cutting line with the proper size for your grass line trimmer.

What to do when line won't advance on your Remington electric line trimmer

  • Unplug the line trimmer power cord to disconnect electrical power from the trimmer.
  • Remove the cutting line spool cap and pull out the cutting line spool. Check the line wound on the spool and rewind the spool if cutting line is bound up or not wound on the spool properly.
  • Properly route the cutting line through the cutting head so line feeds out freely through the spool and cutting head.
  • Clear dirt and debris from the spool and cutting head that could be preventing line from advancing.
  • Check all cutting head components for damage and wear. Replace any worn or damaged cutting head parts.
