  • Water reservoir heating element. The water reservoir heating element heats the water to brew the coffee.
  • Control switch. The control switch turns the coffee maker on and controls the water reservoir heater.
  • Heating plate. The heating plate keeps the carafe of coffee warm after brewing.

How to clean your Perk coffee maker

  • Place the empty carafe on the heating plate.
  • Pour one pint of plain white vinegar into the coffee maker reservoir.
  • Turn the coffee maker on. Wait 30 seconds then turn off the coffee maker so the vinegar stays in the reservoir.
  • Allow the vinegar to soak in the reservoir for 30 minutes.
  • Turn the coffee maker on and let the brewing cycle run to completion. Turn the coffee maker off.
  • Empty the carafe and rinse it out. Fill the carafe with tap water.
  • Pour the water from the carafe into the reservoir and place the carafe on the heating plate. Turn the coffee maker on and allow the brewing cycle to run and fill the carafe with water.
  • Discard the water in the carafe and rinse the brew basket.
