Troubleshooting your Mirro Matic coffee maker when it turns on but won't brew coffee

  • Unplug the coffee maker and check power cord wire connections. Reconnect any loose wires. Replace the power cord if it's damaged.
  • Check wiring between the control switch assembly and the water reservoir heating element. Reconnect any loose wires and repair any broken wires.
  • If the wiring connections are okay, you may need to replace the control switch or the reservoir heating element.

Brewing tips for your Mirro Matic coffee maker

  • Use bottled water or filtered water in the coffee maker. Even though many KitchenAid coffee makers have a carbon water filter, coffee comes out better when you fill the coffee maker with filtered water.
  • Grind whole coffee beans just before making your coffee and use the fresh ground beans in the coffee maker. Using fresh ground coffee in your coffee maker makes that cup of coffee taste better.
  • Use the fine mesh filter instead of a paper filter when brewing coffee. Paper filters absorb oils in the coffee and rob the brewed coffee of taste. Clean the mesh filter often.
  • Replace the carbon water filter often. Even if you use filtered or bottled water in your coffee maker, you'll need to replace the carbon water filter regularly so the coffee maker gets a good supply of clean water for brewing.
