Check the dryer thermal fuse

The thermal fuse is usually on the blower fan housing. This safety switch monitors the air temperature from the dryer to the vent, and it shuts off automatically if the temperature is too high. A high air temperature often results from a clogged vent. Check the vent system for excessive lint, and clean it if necessary. A closed exterior damper may also trip this fuse. Replace the dryer timer

The dryer timer determines the duration of a drying cycle. A control knob on the front of the timer serves for setting the drying time, and a rear motor advances the timer throughout the drying cycle. The timer also operates the drive motor and heating element through switches that are driven by the timer motor. Check the timer contacts, or switches, and replace the timer if it is faulty.

Repair or replace the dryer electronic control board

The electronic control board regulates the dryer functions. Check the control board for visible damage such as burn marks, and examine the wiring connections for a loose wire. Seek advanced diagnostics for your dryer troubleshooting before replacing the electronic control board, because this part is expensive and nonreturnable.
