Wrong size even though I matched model numbers
It's the wrong size. I selected by the model number printed on the water heater, and the threaded end is too big to fit in the threaded drain hole in the water heater. This hole seems to be some wacky odd-ball non-standard size; it's just fractionally smaller than the very similar looking (but leaky) old drain valve. Which I had to put back in, and it still leaks. What does this water heater use, some wacky metric pipe? And why would Sears' web site give me a standard US size fitting that will not fit the water heater that I specified when I searched on the Sears parts web page looking for the specific drain valve for this water heater I bought at Sears? I measured the drain hole in the water heater with calipers when I had the old valve out, and it's 0.93 inches. Where can I get a drain valve which will ACTUALLY FIT THIS WATER HEATER?
