Quick, easy repair
I replaced the metal light housing, the plastic light housing and the light diffuser, all in about 20 minutes. Somehow, the plastic pieces had melted and the metal piece was discolored. The new parts brought the fridge back to new condition.

Bad design refrigerator
If you leave the door cracked it could burn the house down The refrigerator is equipped with 40 watt incandescent bulbs and they get really hot Bad design on Sears part But the new part worked great

Exactly what I expected.
Simple install, started with the light not coming on in my fridge. Traced it to a relay on the circuit board. Ordered new relay online, swapped out and light worked again. Replaced original lamp and lamp cover because the door got left open and melted everything. Had to trim a little away from the top of the fridge but it was under the light fixture.
